Intergalaktik’s ULX5M-GS FPGA Module Featured in Golem.de

The German technology magazine Golem.de has published an article highlighting the ULX5M-GS FPGA module, a hardware platform developed by Intergalaktik.

The ULX5M-GS is designed as an FPGA expansion module for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 (CM5) ecosystem. The board integrates the GateMate A1 FPGA, developed by the German semiconductor company Cologne Chip, enabling flexible programmable logic applications combined with the computing capabilities of the Raspberry Pi platform.

According to the article, the module includes 64 MB of SDRAM, Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, USB-C programming, and multiple hardware interfaces. The design allows developers and makers to experiment with FPGA-based systems while maintaining compatibility with widely used Raspberry Pi hardware.

The platform also supports open development workflows, including open-source FPGA toolchains, making it suitable for research, prototyping, retro-computing projects, and embedded system development.
