Intergalaktik @ BSides Maribor 2026

As part of the NeoRetro II programme presented together with Radiona.org / Zagreb Makerspace, the event featured a hands-on selection of retro computers alongside contemporary FPGA-based systems and experimental gaming devices.

The presentation created a meeting point between cybersecurity, hardware culture, media archaeology, open-source technologies and creative hacking. Historical platforms including Macintosh, Atari, Commodore, Spectrum, Amiga, Orao and Galaksija were presented alongside newer FPGA-based developments, opening a conversation about the technological continuity between early personal computing and today’s programmable open-hardware systems.

For Intergalaktik, the programme connected directly with our work in FPGA development, electronics engineering and open hardware, while also providing an opportunity to exchange knowledge with the regional cybersecurity and hacker community.

Goran Mahovlić also participated in the conference’s Lightning Talks programme, presenting approaches related to retro computing, FPGA development and hands-on hacker education.

BSides Maribor is part of the global Security BSides community and brings together security researchers, developers, engineers, students and technology enthusiasts through technical talks, workshops and informal knowledge exchange.
